  • Hi Bob –

No worries! You posted the pic on Facebook and told me about it. You’re entered!

  • Hello,

Where do we post the pictures?

  • Very good point, Derek. Get one of the covers on the screen and take a snapshot of that! I won’t penalize for not having a portable Ereader!

  • I really like the Bakkian Chronicles series, but I do not think I can take my desktop PC running the Kindle app to a tourist attraction. Makes the contest kind of unfair, don’t you think?

  • Hi Megan! Thanks for looking me up!

Pryllan is one of my favorite characters, too. Don’t worry, we haven’t seen the last of her. She’s one of the protagonists in the story I’ll be working on after I finish The Lost City. It’s going to be fun!

And no worries about having to make a day trip for the pic. Just add one of the book covers to whatever setting you feel would make a great picture and send it in! Sarah and Lia (my wife and her friend) will be selecting the winners!

  • I’m now seriously addicted to the bakkian chronicles. I can’t put my kindle down!
I’m disappointed that I’m not going away anywhere soon. Will have to find a local landmark to enter!
Hope you carry on writing! Pryllan is one of my fave characters 🙂

  • Hi Sally!

The deadline will be the end of next month. That way it’ll give everyone a chance to get their pics planned out and submitted!

Steve is your favorite character? Very nice!!!

  • I need to know the deadline to get the pic in or did you say somewhere on here and I missed it? I missed the last contest:( and Steve is my favorite character too. He’s hot, no pun intended.lol

  • Hi Dennis! I appreciate you telling me that. I’m so very glad you enjoyed it! Interested in winning some Bakkian Chronicles merchandise? Enter the contest I have going right now and you’ll have a chance to do just that!

  • I JUST FINISHED YOUR FIRST BOOK. YOU HAVE GAINED A FAN! YOUR PORTRAIL OF THE FANTASY WAS EXTREMELY LIFELIKE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS. SINCERELY, DENNIS O.

  • Man alive, got a very persistent Russian Troll. They are bouncing their IP through London, but it’s still annoying to see that many crap messages come through. Telecom Tekhpodderzhka Ltd. Sounds like a phony ISP to me. I’m reporting them now.

    UPDATE

I contacted my host provider and they essentially told me there wasn’t anything they could do to block just one ip address from accessing my site. Well, turns out there is something you can do if you know what you’re doing. 🙂 If you know the ip of the person you want to block, and you create a “.htaccess” file, and you’re hosted on a Linux machine, it works like a charm. Russian Troll – VANQUISHED!!

  • this is going to be fun but now i have to figure out how i want to do the picture

  • That’s ok, Toni! A good friend of mine, Scott, told me how his Kindle has the ability to read a story out loud, thereby turning it into an audio book. It had some serious stumbles when it tried to pronounce some of those words in there. Bakkian. Jhorun. Rypo. Pontal. I just wish I could have that feature with my iPad’s Kindle app. *sigh* Oh, well.

  • And due to auto correct Bakkain came out Balmain in my first comment…grrrrrr

  • I love The Balmain Chronicles! Being a lover of Dragons, one of my favorite characters is Kahvel! I love them all, tho, and look forward to more of their adventures.

  • Ok, after discussing the possibilities with my wife, we came up with a really cool thing to do. Let me give you a little background on how we thought of this…

In the local newspaper here there’s a feature that’s always on the last, or the next to the last page that shows readers “On Vacation” in various places around the country. Or the world, for that matter. What they do is hold up a copy of our local paper and they take a photograph with it, usually while they’re in the front of some cool tourist attraction or else some really pretty scenery.

What I’ll have you do is take a copy of any of the books in print, or else whatever e-reader device you use to read the books with the book cover displayed, and take a picture of it next to a landmark, tourist attraction, or any setting you feel would make a great picture. I’ll leave it up to you whether or not you’d like to be in the picture. Either post the picture on Facebook or email it to me directly at: jmpoole (at) gmail dot com. Then leave me a message here stating you sent in a picture and where the picture was taken.

This time neither myself nor Keeley (Peanut) will be choosing. Since I’ve been told I’m not good choosing pictures, my wife and her friend will be selecting the three winners. Yes, you read that right. Sarah and Lia will be choosing the winners!

Speaking of winning a contest, what will you win? Glad you asked! Up for grabs will be some fantastic Bakkian Chronicles themed merchandise! Hats, tee shirts, mugs, magnets, etc. As soon as I finalize what the prizes will be I’ll post it here.

As of right now, I’m lowering the security once more so that all you have to do to leave a message is fill out the form. I’ll deal with the Trolls as they show up! 🙂

Thanks everyone! I hope you all have a great day!
