Updates – Tales of Lentari #2
Greetings honorary citizens of Lentari!
I thought I’d give everyone an update on the progress of Something Wyverian This Way Comes (Tales of Lentari #2). I know there are a lot of authors who write faster than me, and quite honestly, I’m trying to increase my productivity and release books faster than one a year. I’m getting closer to being able to write full time, but I’m not there yet so I’m still forced to put on my computer technician’s hat and help clients from time to time.
My goal is to write a chapter a week. I set this goal each and every time I start writing a new book. Sadly, I’ve yet to keep that timeline and the writing ends up taking forever. So, with that being said, sorry ’bout that.
What I can tell you with SWtwC is that I’m holding pretty close to the timeline. I’ve managed to only miss a few deadlines but for the most part, I’ve been maintaining my chapter-a-week goal. I’ve finished chapter 5 and today I’m going to sketch out the details for chapter 6 in my notebook so I can write it next week. So what’s going on with the story? Well, let’s see. The dragons, along with their helpers, have managed to convince a very reluctant non-ally to join their ranks and help solve the problem at hand. Trust me when I say the newest participant would rather be doing anything else rather than helping the dragons. Who is he? Well, he’s someone you’ve recently met in the previous book! Does that help or hinder?
I had one of the best turnouts yet for one of my Goodreads giveaways when I put up the first ever copy of Lost City. Typically I get about 300-400 people vying for a copy with the most ever being a smidge over 700. This time I had 1000! I was floored! I do think I’ll have to put another copy up there and see how it goes! Let me tell you, it’s a great way to get your book out there!
Did everyone have a great Halloween? We certainly did. Bought several bags of candy and only had two kids come to the house. Never fails. We always make sure we have plenty of candy and we rarely get more than a few kids. So why do we buy so much? ‘Cause we know it won’t go to waste! I guess that’s one of the drawbacks of living in a small desert resort town where most people are in their late 50s and up. I still prefer a small town over a big city any day.
Well, I’m off to work on chapter 6. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Watch lots of football! Go Redskins! (Yeah, I know; they suck right now.)
